I am in my 20s, live in country Victoria and am a writer trapped in a labourer’s body. I am about six feet tall, or 182-183 cm, roughly the same height as Elvis Presley, though I think I’m lighter than he is at 65 kg. I have also been told I look like him, but I’m not sure I see the resemblance.
Luckily I happen to be a fan – I like his music, and that of The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Cream, Jet – I’m pretty eclectic, in music, film and literature. My favourite film of all time is The Shawshank Redemption, followed closely by It’s A Wonderful Life, High Noon, Scent Of A Woman and Monty Python: And Now For Something Completely Different. I enjoy tales of hope, redemption, heroism, freedom, and life affirmation, but then this could be seen to contrast sharply with some of my taste in literature; my favourite writers include James Ellroy, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Mickey Spillane (though these themes do come up in at least some of their narratives). My favourite books include Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, A Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams and The Big Nowhere and L.A. Confidential by James Ellroy. Anything that is well-written, interesting, has strong characters and/or makes me laugh I am into.
I have always wanted to be a writer, and do something in that field; however, while waiting for that dream job I work in the rather less accommodating position of factory process worker, and whatever else comes up. I am also working on a novel, where time permits.
This is my journal/blog for actual literary purposes, as opposed to general blogging. The work in this blog is copyright, so don't get any funny ideas about plagiarising it.
